2 years of Loud Speaker… YAY!!
Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday Loud Speeeeakaaaar. Happy Birthday to you.
1 Feb, 2018. Today is the day when Loud Speaker turns 2. And guess who is the most excited? MEEEEE!
It is true, if you are passionate about something, you will do everything in your power to achieve it. And without your support it couldn’t have been possible. A big thanks to you guys
So today on this occasion (which I think is perfect one) I am going to answer a few questions I am asked regularly like what Loud Speaker is about, how it all started, what are the future goals and few other unknown facts about me.
What it is? What does it mean?
For me, Loud Speaker is being open about my thoughts. Whatever is in my mind, whether good or bad, I let it come through.
Often I have seen people hiding things in them and feeling congested inside. The main reason what i felt myself is the fear of expression. We all are afraid of expressing ourselves and opening up in front of anyone because of fear of being judged, because of fear of being neglected, because of fear of being overthrown. I myself felt this. So I chose being anonymous and it really worked.
Read my first blog post Addiction of Anonymity.
I think everyone should let out whats on their mind. You can talk to someone. If you feel too shy or afraid to talk about it, you can write it in a diary and keep praying no one will read it or you can wear the mask of anonymity and say whatever you want without the fear of being known who you are. It will make you feel good.
That is why I started this blog. So that I can share whats on my mind. At first I was also suffering with this fear of expression. But slowly my confidence level started improving and I am still progressing at it. The difference is now I am not anonymous anymore.
Why I threw away that mask? I realised I was not doing justice to myself. Behind the name of Loud Speaker, I was still that typical human being living with that fear. So I slowly gained confidence as I realised I am being accepted in this society disregarding my differences. And now I have my own identity related with Loud Speaker.
My mom once said to me:
You only fear when you have done something wrong. If you have done nothing wrong, then why the fear.
And I believe this is true. Fear is just a state of mind which can be overcome easily by facing it. AND I DID IT!
You have a voice, don’t let it die!
How it all started? How you came up with this name Loud Speaker?
I often get asked this question. And my usual reply is “It’s a long story. Leave it”. Today I am going to tell that long story. Your patience is requested while reading.
It all started when I was in my college days. A team of creators came in college to promote their app called fush. Basically it was a mobile app on which students from colleges in and around Chandigarh could sign up with any anonymous name. I signed up on that app with this name Loud Speaker.
There were a whole lot of other guys and girls on that app and it was all fun and games. You could meet new people and share your ideas with the community of like-minded youngsters. But naaaah! This app was not used for that. We used to do all kind of bakchodi, abuse anyone without letting him know who we are, flirt and irritate girls. This was what actually happened.
I realised I was a whole different person on this app. What I couldn’t share on my Facebook timeline I was sharing on this app without any fear. I was being titled the PJ king by the people. And yeah, my jokes were literally that bad.
I met a few people on that app. Putting them in count, they were 3. Out of these 3, one became a good friend, one became a better friend and one made me her brother. Late night chats were the thing that happened with better one in those days. But soon everything faded away and things went ugly. Internet relationships, whether it is love or friendship or anything else, means nothing in real life. At that moment I realised its time to move on and I took my venture to Instagram.
My first year on Instagram was quite exciting. I received a tremendous amount and support from all you lovely people. In one year it achieved a mass following of 10000 followers on Instagram. It went successful. Meantime I decided to expand to Facebook, twitter and other social media sites and even started this blog.
But without proper strategy and execution it all went down. What happened? Instagram algorithm happened. And I am not gonna stop criticising Instagram for this.
After you finish reading this blog, please go to my Instagram page and turn on post notifications. And do like 4 to 5 posts to signal Instagram that you are interested in the content I post. Also if you feel like, save some pictures in your collection from my page. Have to tackle Instagram in some way.
In the next year the follower count remained the same and I am still running on 10k with a continuous downfall. All thanks to Instagram for shadow banning my account and doing other useless stuff.
But lets focus on the bright side. We are still a big family of 10k. And I love all of you.
Future of Loud Speaker
I am not sure about what will happen in future. No one is. But I do want to make this blog better and reach more people. I made this year a resolution that I have to write a minimum of 20 blog posts this year and roughly 2 blogs per month. I also do have plans to expand it in a more professional way. I want to cover various topics under various niche which I haven’t planned yet.
- Loud Speaker logo is created by Charis Tsevis. Charis is a Greek Visual Designer and illustrator. I downloaded this logo over the internet and later when I came to know about him I took his permission to use it for my blog and he very politely and very gently allowed me. I am very thankful to you Charis.
- I shoot and edit pictures and videos on my own. I am the only one managing all the social profiles of Loud Speaker.
- I am a very socially awkward person. I do not open up easily. But I am trying to better it up. I now try to engage with more people and try to be as expressive as i could be regarding their work and stuff in a positive way.
- Most of my friends and family don’t even know that I do blogging, not even my parents. I never asked them to follow me or promote me on their social media. Although I did asked some fellow bloggers and known personalities on Instagram to promote my page and some of them helped me too. Thank you Prachi Kapoor, Alifya Kothari and all others for lending me your helping hand when I was in the initial stage. And thank you Calories and Memories for giving me random shoutouts. And never the less, thank you all of you guys for always supporting and presenting your love. Now please turn on post notifications.
